Emilia Gregory
PhD student at Liverpool University
Emilia recently completed an MSci in Biochemistry from the University of Manchester in the summer of 2021. During her final year project she had the opportunity to work with Drosophila for the first time- assessing how Rac1 mutants lead to a novel neurodevelopmental disorder. During this time Emilia became interested in working with Drosophila as a research tool to study neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration. This lead her to choose her current project under the Newcastle-Liverpool-Durham BBSRC partnership programme, with the supervision of Dr Natalia Sanchez-Soriano and Dr Lena Riabinina, titled “Assessing the roles of Tau in synaptic architecture and function”.
