Recently Lena became a Deputy Director for Science at the Durham Centre for the Study of Ukraine. The Centre has been established following a number of successful interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that Durham University has developed with partners in Ukraine since 2022, after the start of the russian invasion and the ongoing war in Ukraine. The goal of the Centre is to aid the recovery of Ukraine by establishing links and join projects with colleagues in Ukraine and elsewhere in the world.
