James completed his Bachelors in Biology at Northumbria University in 2023, focussing on nocturnal pollination by moths in the north east of England during his dissertation. During his final semester, he gave a presentation on his project to the Natural History Society of Northumberland. James completed his Masters of Research of Ecology at Newcastle University in September 2024, investigating the impact that artificial light has on nocturnal pollinators in southern Portugal. The project involved a 3 months fieldwork period at A Rocha Portugal. As of September 2024, James started his position as Assistant Mosquito Insectary Technician at the Insect Neuro Lab, and he looks forward to helping further research on mosquitoes and insect neuroscience.
